Job Number: 68431 Our client is seeking a Staff Accountant to work in areas of fixed assets, accounts receivable and general ledger.

  • Fixed Asset Accounting
  • Process fixed assets monthly including properly adding, disposing and/or retiring assets in the subledger
  • Identifying and reconciling the subledger to the general ledger under the direction of the Senior Accountant
  • Coordinate, tag and accurately document physical counts with other departments and communicate results with Management and Senior Accountant
  • Update fixed asset locations to ensure accuracy of fixed asset support schedules for property, federal, and state tax returns purposes
  • Prepare fixed asset support schedules for monthly close and other reporting
  • Maintain Oracle fixed asset set of books and reconcile to corporate set of books
  • Process customer invoices/payments in Oracle and confirm invoice accuracy
  • Prepare monthly journal entries for prepaids, standard accruals, reversing entries, deferred service revenue, bank and deposits
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reconciliations, compare to prior period and explain variances
  • Prepare schedules for semi-annual review and year end audit
  • Assist with periodic reviews, annual audit preparation/schedules for external auditors
  • Prepare property tax and sales tax returns on a monthly or quarterly basis
  • Prepare census reports, unclaimed property forms and other informational reports on an adhoc basis
  • Work with the Accounts Receivable as well as with other members of the Finance team
  • Work will be reviewed by a senior staff member to ensure proper categorization of accounts according to GAAP and company policy


  • Bachelor's degree - Accounting with a good understanding of GAAP
  • Minimum 2-3 years in a similar role
  • Solid PC-based software background (MS Excel and Word) required, experience with Oracle g/l software a definite plus
  • Team oriented person who can work with individuals and team level
  • Must be flexible and willing to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) -good participation in meetings, work well with other departments
  • Good analytical skills; good organizational skills, takes initiative, and is able to take direction well.
  • The ideal candidate will be one who is self-reliant, takes initiative and is still able to problem-solve and take direction well
  • He/She must also be able to handle pressure and work under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
